This course is designed to assist the student in developing and implementing an effective art program in a Montessori primary class.  The student will explore the world of art education through questions such as What is art?  Why teach art to young children? and How do we teach art to young children?  We will help the student to aid the child to develop a positive feeling and appreciation toward many types of art.  The course will cover teaching basic skills including two-dimensional and three dimensional work, art appreciation, aesthetics, art history and integration of art into other curriculum areas.
